From Hourly Rate to Day Rate and Fixed Price
Many clients do not want an hourly rate but a day rate or a fixed price. You can derive both from your hourly rate.
Day rate
Day rate = hourly rate × hours per day. At 8 hours and €59.22 that is €474. Do not calculate with fewer hours just because the day is “full”: on a booked day you cannot sell anything else.
Fixed price
- Estimate the hours for each step separately.
- Add a safety margin for the unexpected and for coordination – 15–30 % is common.
- Multiply by your hourly rate and round up.
Example: 12 hours × €59.22 + 20 % = €855. The calculator has a field for this below the result.
Put it in writing
A fixed price needs a clear scope: what is included, how many rounds of changes, what extra work costs.
